NGA Hails Supreme Court Decision on NLRB Recess Appointments

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--The National Grocers Association (NGA) released the following statement applauding the Supreme Court's unanimous decision ruling that President Obama's recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) during a pro-forma session of the U.S. Senate in January 2012 were invalid:

"Today's ruling is a win for the business community and a step towards ensuring a level playing field for employers. NGA remains committed to working with Congress and the Administration to enact reforms that help protect employer free speech and privacy, and will continue to adamantly oppose legislation or regulations that tilts the playing field in favor of organized labor," said Peter J. Larkin, President and CEO of NGA.

This ruling was made in the case NLRB vs. Noel Canning. In conjunction with the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (CDW), NGA has been very involved in efforts to support legal challenges to a number of NLRB decisions, including NLRB vs. Noel Canning.
