PISCATAWAY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IEEE, the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, today announced that IEEE Electrification Magazine, published by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), received an APEX award for publication excellence.
In its 26th year, the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence is an annual competition for corporate and nonprofit publishers, editors, writers and designers who create print, Web, electronic and social media. The APEX 2014 awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.
In November 2013, IEEE PES unveiled its IEEE Electrification Magazine, a quarterly print and digital publication dedicated to disseminating information on all matters related to microgrids onboard electric vehicles, ships, trains, planes and off-grid applications. In addition, the magazine is co-sponsored by the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IEEE IAS) and the IEEE Power Electronics Society (IEEE PELS).
“Receiving an APEX award is quite an honor and the IEEE Power & Energy Society is gratified that the IEEE Electrification Magazine – as a new publication – is already making a significant impact on the industry and beyond,” said Saifur Rahman, editor-in-chief for IEEE Electrification Magazine and IEEE PES fellow member. “The world of electrification is experiencing a surge as renewable energy, energy storage, power electronics and more are top-of-mind among our readership. The idea that microgrids and off-grid applications are becoming more and more ‘main stream’ is exciting. I welcome IEEE Electrification Magazine’s obvious bright future.”
Each edition of the magazine provides news, analysis and insights on electric vehicles and other forms of transportation. Readers have access to comprehensive and in-depth technical analysis from engineers in the field of advanced electrification. While the publication covers the technical aspects of the market, it also provides perspectives on non-technical areas such as business, environmental and social concerns.
