NEW YORK--()--Monday, June 16, 2014, marked a full day of celebration at Long Island’s prestigious Glen Head Country Club sponsored by the Mid Island Y Jewish Community Center. Area business leaders and philanthropists joined the Center’s staff and directors to honor Joshua Sason, Founder and CEO of Magna, for his significant contributions to the organization in 2013.

Over the course of the day, an additional $150,000 was raised in support of programming at the Community Center. These new activities include youth programs at the Joshua A. Sason Gymnasium in Mr. Sason’s hometown of Plainview, NY.

Following breakfast, attendees enjoyed a Shotgun round of golf before coming together at the end of the day for dinner and an award ceremony. Al Berg, CEO of Marchon Eyewear and Vice President of the MIY JCC’s Board of Directors, presented Mr. Sason with a handcrafted Tzedakah box in honor of his key role in the continued success and growth of the organization. Rick Lewis, CEO of the Center, added, “Joshua’s contribution came at a critical time to keep our programs and renovations moving forward,” expressing the organization’s sincere appreciation for the Investor’s generosity.

In accepting this recognition, Joshua said he derives great inspiration from the mission of the Mid Island Y Jewish Community Center and the service it provides to all members of the community. “My family and I have been active members of the JCC for over twenty years. It is an honor to support this organization which has done so much for me and for the community, and I am humbled by the honor of the ‘Sason Gym’.

“The leadership at the Mid Island Y is always striving to stay on the cutting edge of technology and programs offered,” said Sason. “I want to thank all the donors who have contributed to the Gym’s success, especially those who were not previously familiar with the cause, but were willing to give on my behalf.”
