Valenti Promoted to Vice President of Operations of Aventine Renewable Energy

PEKIN, Ill.--()--John Valenti has been promoted to vice president of operations for Aventine Renewable Energy Inc. He is responsible for overseeing Aventine’s four ethanol plants and the development and execution of capital investments.

Valenti has 14 years of professional experience in technical and operations management in the chemical processing, food ingredients, packaged consumer goods and biofuels industries.

He joined Aventine in 2011 as plant manager of the company’s facility in Mount Vernon, Indiana. Since March 2013 he had served as plant complex manager of the Pekin I and II milling facilities in Pekin, Illinois, which produce industrial and fuel ethanol, feed products and food-grade yeast.

Prior to joining Aventine, Valenti was operations manager for B&G Foods in Portland, Maine, where he led a continuous improvement project that transformed the plant’s quality, cost and throughput efficiency, achieving recognition in Portland as Business of the Year in 2011.

From 2007 until 2010 he served as the corporate engineering manager for Parallel Environmental Services Corp. in Louisville, Kentucky, where he managed capital projects, revamped processes and optimized operations, which resulted in record profits in 2009.

From 2000 until 2007 Valenti held various management and engineering roles with Tate & Lyle, where he was instrumental in designing systems and controls to improve safety, reduce cost and increase production.

Valenti is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in food and bioprocess engineering.
