WAYNE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Castrol announced today that Hypuron Advanced Formula, its semi-synthetic 10W-30 diesel engine oil, has received the latest category approval, SN, for gasoline engines from the American Petroleum Institute (API). The SN category, introduced in October 2010, was established to provide better protection against high-temperature deposits, more stringent sludge control, and seal compatibility.
“A growing number of fleets with both diesel and gasoline engines require a single oil that does a great job of protecting engines in a range of scenarios,” said Kim Levine, U.S. Marketing Manager for Castrol Global Business. “And that’s something we know a lot about at Castrol. We listened to our customers’ needs and responded with a solution to meet those needs.”
“Since its introduction in 2011, Hypuron Advanced Formula 10W-30 has helped heavy duty commercial fleets to significantly reduce costs because it is designed for ‘extreme’ extended drain intervals (up to 70,000 miles*) in Class 8 diesel engine applications,” stated Levine. “While extreme extended drain intervals are not applicable for gasoline and light-duty diesel engine applications, Hypuron Advanced Formula 10W-30 offers proven protection and improved operational efficiency for mixed fleets.”
Castrol delivers excellent value to its customers through premium lubrication solutions that provide highly effective equipment protection and proven extended drain capabilities. Castrol’s teams of lubrication experts partner with on-road and off-road fleets to deliver proven operational efficiencies through innovation and extensive testing and field trials.
