Allianz Life Ranked 14th on Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces 2014

Company’s ongoing commitment to employees’ well-being helps drive high engagement

MINNEAPOLIS--()--For the fifth consecutive year, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life) has been named one of the Top 100 Workplaces in Minnesota. Allianz Life, a leader in insured retirement solutions, employs approximately 2,000 people throughout the United States and ranked 14th on the 2014 large company list. Allianz Life is one of only 14 companies in the state that has made the list each year since 2009.

The Top 100 Workplaces Award recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on employee opinions measuring engagement, organizational health and satisfaction. The analysis included responses from more than 58,000 employees at Minnesota public, private and nonprofit organizations. Like other Top Workplaces, employees’ connection to the company was a factor that contributed to the Allianz Life top ranking – from feeling appreciated and confident about their future with the company, to their job making them feel like they are part of something meaningful.

Focusing on Employees

“Our employees are what make Allianz Life a top workplace,” said Allianz Life President and CEO Walter White. “In addition to our commitment to employee development and communication, we also focus on their overall well-being, including financial fitness, healthcare, and stress management. By helping our employees succeed across several dimensions, we not only help our business succeed, but also build our reputation as a great place to work.”

Some of the on-site amenities Allianz Life employees appreciate most, including an on-site childcare and fitness center, were highlighted in an additional feature about the companies that made the Top Workplaces list five years in a row.

“Our company’s commitment to recognizing employees is one of the reasons Allianz Life such a great company to work for,” said Kristina Walch, the company’s 2013 Employee of the Year. “From our executives to individual contributors, people take time to thank their co-workers and let them know their work is appreciated. It’s key to why we have such a highly engaged company culture.”
