NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Capitalizing on its claim, ‘the Number 1 selling brand in Spain,’ EL COTO DE RIOJA is asserting its title here in the USA, too! The new brand message ‘The Buck Stops Here’ and the flashy new look of its outer shippers, are certain to get noticed across the nation. And, the tag-line ‘the search for the perfect Rioja ends with El Coto’, clearly clarifies it all.
Founded in 1970, El Coto continues to craft Tempranillo-based, fruit-forward wines and has quickly become the leading Rioja brand in Spain and one of the most popular throughout Europe. With this in mind, Frederick Wildman and Sons, is launching a new brand creative and marketing plan for El Coto de Rioja in the United States for 2014.
Martin Sinkoff, VP/Director of Marketing explained: “El Coto is an exceptional brand and we wanted to get this message to consumers in a clear, focused, exciting way at the point of purchase. Our new outer-shipping packaging does just that creating an instant in-store display that will animate retail floors, attract attention and build sales (and pleasure for everyone who buys and drinks El Coto!)”
The new brand platform and marketing campaign emphasizes the following:
# 1 Selling Rioja Crianza brand in Spain, both on and off-premise;
# 1 Value for money at all price points;
# 1 Winemaking facility—the most state of the art in Rioja;
# 1 Owner of vineyards in Rioja and growing….
# 1 Buyer of oak barriques in the world (70,000+ barrels of all types)
The roll-out begins this summer and will feature the following elements:
- # 1 bottle-neckers pre-packed on every bottle shipped from Rioja;
- # 1 Shelf talkers;
- # 1 Case cards;
- # 1 Sell sheets with current wine reviews;
- # 1 The Buck Stops Here! Trade advertising.
All campaign elements include the tag-line “The search for the perfect Wine ends with El Coto” and apply to the trio of entry-level El Coto wines: Blanco, Rosado and Crianza.
The familiar Wildman Oval created by Colonel Wildman back in 1934, is present in every bottle that the company imports and has remained constant and is still consistently recognized world-wide as a symbol of quality. The company is what Frederick Wildman's president and CEO Richard Cacciato calls "the biggest little wine company in America."
