NAPA, Calif.--()--WineShop At Home (www.wineshopathome.com) the premiere direct and social seller of high-quality, exclusive wine brands, was named the winner of the Direct Selling Association’s Ethos Award for Sales & Marketing Campaign of the Year for its social media-based “Wine Is Social” campaign. The prestigious Ethos Award was presented to the company’s chief executive officer and president, Jane Creed, at the Direct Selling Association’s (www.dsa.org) annual convention, held in June in Orlando, Florida. In addition to winning the single marketing category award, WineShop At Home was also the winner of both the Social Media/Online and Sales & Marketing Promotions Awards.

WineShop At Home’s “Wine is Social” campaign, with its web and mobile presence and shopping hub on Facebook (facebook.com/wineshopathome), invited adult wine lovers and those brand new to the world of wine, to join their wine community and experience the wine country lifestyle for themselves. “Our wine community is for everyone,” says Creed. “At WineShop At Home, we invite people to ‘Come for the Taste. Stay for the Lifestyle.’ Come join us as a host or a guest, or, for the ultimate wine lifestyle experience, start a wine business of your own.” Both during, and after the campaign, WineShop at Home experienced double-digit growth in its in-home wine tasting events, product sales, Artisan Collection Wine Club memberships and the number of independent Wine Consultants throughout the country who market the company’s wine through in-home wine tasting events.

WineShop At Home began in the late 1990’s as 1-800-wineshop, offering well-known boutique wines, primarily from small California wineries. In early 2002, the company began to enter the direct selling channel of distribution, offering its own wine brands through in-home wine tastings. It officially launched as WineShop At Home in 2005. In 2010, with new financial control of the business and a management team comprised of highly-skilled direct sellers, the business began to accelerate. “Our chairman of the board, Stan Fredrick II and I are both extremely proud of where our company is today. With our award winning wines and social media programs we are able to offer our independent wine consultants the best career on earth and our customers the most unique wine tasting and wine lifestyle experience in the country,” says Creed. “To us,” she adds, “Wine is Social” is far more than a campaign; it’s a way of life.”

The award-winning “Wine is Social” campaign was a collaboration, and an exclusive strategic partnership, between the marketing and technology teams at WineShop At Home and its website developer DualBrain (http://www.thinkdualbrain.com) and Social Media Agency Multibrain (http://www.multibrain.net).

The effort began with an overall re-branding and launch of a new replicated website platform offering each of the independent Wine Consultants their own site optimized for desktop, tablet and mobile viewing. Next, the team at Multibrain created a “networked” solution of social media profiles, with emphasis on Facebook as the “hub” connecting all of the Wine Consultants’ pages together to ensure a consistent brand. Connecting apps on Facebook brought together other social networks such as YouTube, Twitter, and Pinterest, and engagement apps were created to drive Wine Tastings, Artisan Wine Club memberships and information forms to join the WineShop At Home family. In addition to experiencing double-digit growth, the WineShop At Home social wine community grew over 1,600%, with weekly reach growing over 678%, and a total campaign reach of over 13.9 million people.
