PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Peak Capital Partners announced that it received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 Award in the financial services category in the Utah region. The award recognizes high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
“To be recognized with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award is an honor,” said Jeff Burningham, founder and managing director of Peak. “Peak has witnessed tremendous growth over the past two years, thanks to the dedication of our employees and the confidence of our investors. Going forward, we expect to see continued growth in the Peak portfolio of companies.”
Peak Capital was co-founded in 2007 by Jeff Burningham, Jeff Danley and Jamie Dunn. The firm owns and manages conventional, student and affordable apartment properties in growth markets across the United States, and manages an asset portfolio valued at $650 million. Peak Capital was selected from an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a special gala event at The Grand America in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 29.
Now in its 28th year, the program has honored the inspirational leadership of such entrepreneurs as Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee Co., Pierre Omidyar of eBay and Mindy Grossman of HSN.
As a Utah Region award recipient, Peak Capital is now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 national program. Award recipients in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur of the Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif., on Nov. 15. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
Last year, Peak Capital was named the No. 6 “Fastest Growing Company” in Utah by MountainWest Capital Network, a nonprofit group whose mission is centered in fostering capital development and business growth in Utah.
