MADISON, Wis.--()--Wisconsin Secretary of Tourism Stephanie Klett, today helped kick off the Department of Natural Resources’ Free Fun Weekend at the Beloit Travel Wisconsin Welcome Center. Wisconsin Free Fun Weekend, June 7-8, offers Wisconsin residents and out-of-state visitors a chance to check out the state’s best outdoor recreation activities, such as fishing and state parks, for free.

Secretary Klett unveiled a new feature available at the state’s Travel Wisconsin Welcome Centers. Visitors can take and share photos using fun Camp Wisconsin photo cutouts and backdrops now on display at all eight Welcome Center locations. The Welcome Centers offer full-service travel planning including free maps and guides and knowledgeable staff that can help travelers plan their Free Fun Weekend or any upcoming Wisconsin getaway.

“We are so excited to promote this exciting opportunity to fish for free, hike, bike or ATV state trails for free and visit state parks and forests all weekend long for free,” said Secretary Klett. “I can’t think of a better way to kick off another fantastic summer of fun in Wisconsin then to enjoy a free weekend of activities in the great outdoors.”

Be sure to share your Welcome Centers’ Camp Wisconsin photos by posting on Facebook or Twitter, using the hashtag #TravelWI and let the fun begin.
