Wiley Implements Hootsuite’s New Custom Education Platform

HOBOKEN, N.J.--()--John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (NYSE:JWa and JWb), a global provider of knowledge and knowledge-enabled solutions that improve outcomes in research, professional development and education, today announces the incorporation of Hootsuite’s new Custom Education offering into their employee training program.

Hootsuite’s Custom Education offers organizations tailored social media training programs to develop employee competencies, increase employee engagement online, build brand advocacy and mitigate social risk. Through the program, Wiley’s talented workforce will be able to effectively and responsibly engage on social channels, and maintain a competitive advantage in the digital space.

“Training on social media is key for any large corporation," said Clay Stobaugh, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer for Wiley. “Whether posting personally or on behalf of Wiley, we want all of our employees to feel empowered that they are utilizing the best practices in the space. Social media is playing a key role in how we engage with and better understand our customers. Arming colleagues with the skills they need is crucial. I’m thrilled that the team partnered with Hootsuite because of their expertise in the social space and the flexibility of the program.”

Through Hootsuite’s Custom Education program, Wiley will receive a mix of content from Hootsuite University and the Newhouse-Hootsuite Advanced Social Media Strategy Certification, which addresses specific needs of organizations and ensures baseline knowledge among employees on social media best practices. Also included in the Custom Education program is a tailored content and curriculum for employees, as well as an intuitive e-learning platform, which provides an easy-to-use interface, dynamic learning assessments, and strong analytics to measure the business impact of the program.

“While many organizations are realizing the power of social engagement, 77%* of companies consider missing digital skills to be the key hurdle to their social transformation,” said Jeanette Gibson, Hootsuite’s Vice President of Community and Customer Experience. “Empowering your employees to be confident and knowledgeable is critical to the success of a social business and staying ahead of the competition; Hootsuite Custom Education enables senior leaders to tailor training for their organization based on specific business needs.”
