JERUSALEM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Israel-based EYAHT, Aish HaTorah’s College for women announced today the opening of the brand new purpose-built $6M Judith Dan campus in the heart of Jerusalem. The seminary, housed in the five story Susan Wilstein building, includes courses in Jewish philosophy and textual studies. It will have room for 72 full time students and 350 women studying at any one time. Facilities include a panoramic rooftop, gym, dining facilities and dorm rooms.
“The development of this new campus builds on EYAHT’s thirty year reputation, and ensures we will continue to prepare students for lives as great Jewish women who care about the Jewish people”, said Rebbetzen Denah Weinberg, founder of EYAHT, and wife of the late Rabbi Noach Weinberg, leader of the movement that brought hundreds of thousands of Jews back to Judaism.
“My daughter was influenced by a missionary in college. I had no answers for her” said Bonnie Cohen, EYAHT International Chairwoman. “This school gave me answers and I want others to have them too. I have been able to give people the opportunity to be part of the greatest mitzvah in the world: Jewish education. It’s been an awesome journey - of $18, $36 to $1 million, and each sponsor has earned incredible merit. More than a thousand people have been part of this venture – one that will see thousands more families living and loving their Judaism.”
3000 alumnae all over the world make an EYAHT impact daily, through their communities, professional lives and their families. Graduates include Lori Palatnik of the Jewish Women’s Renaissance Project – tagged the “Mommy Birthright” Israel trip, author and community leader, Emunah Braverman, Dr. Miri Vaknin and Dr. Leora Adina Yaremchik.
Thought provoking and stimulating courses are designed to inspire Jewish women to maximize their potential. Classes offered include the meaning of prayer, women's issues, Bible (Written and Oral), Jewish history, holidays and mysticism, laws and customs as well as tours of Israel and Shabbat retreats. Students learn how to integrate Torah into every aspect of their lives and become empowered to achieve personal greatness.
