PHOENIX & CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SharedClarity, which improves patient outcomes and reduces costs, has launched a new partnership with BravoSolution, the supply management company, to negotiate and manage contracts for the most effective medical devices.
SharedClarity is a joint venture between UnitedHealthcare and four health care systems – Illinois-based Advocate Health Care, Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, San Francisco-based Dignity Health and Michigan-based McLaren Health Care.
The Phoenix-based company conducts independent studies to determine the most effective medical devices and then contracts market-leading prices with the manufacturers of those products for SharedClarity members and customers.
“Health care providers shouldn’t have to choose between cost savings and equipping physicians with the most effective products on the market,” said SharedClarity President Mark West. “Our company uniquely aligns the largest health insurer in the United States, multiple health systems, as well as manufacturers and suppliers, with the ultimate goal to improve the quality and affordability of physician preference items. We chose BravoSolution based on its proven track record to support our collective sourcing and contracting needs for all of our members and business partners.”
SharedClarity’s first contracts for bare metal and drug-eluting stents are available through the BravoSolution GPO Business Center.
The new partnership with BravoSolution enables SharedClarity to:
- Facilitate member-led clinical review teams’ selection of the most effective products at market-leading prices.
- Easily source, negotiate and measure contract compliance.
- Promote and advertise available contracts to SharedClarity members as well as providers within the UnitedHealth Group.
- Give participants an easier way to view and sign up for contracts within one integrated solution.
SharedClarity specializes in products for radiology, imaging, cardiology, cardiac surgical, orthopedic/spine surgical, vascular surgical, urology and ophthalmology.
“With no end in sight to rising medical costs, health care systems must find new ways to contain costs while still maintaining, if not improving, patient outcomes,” said David Englebert, Director at BravoSolution. “SharedClarity is leading the industry by giving its members the best products, at the best prices possible.”
SharedClarity is a unique joint effort between health care systems and UnitedHealthcare to use data from tens of millions of patients to study the long-term effectiveness of high-technology medical devices that have a high impact on patients. SharedClarity will use the results of the studies to select the most effective medical devices for patients and negotiate affordable purchasing agreements with manufacturers.
