Sip Sangria and Support Poverty Alleviation

Portion of proceeds from Eppa Sangria to benefit Whole Planet Foundation®

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Light, fruity sangrias are a hit at summer parties this season. Eppa Sangria not only brings the ripe flavors of summer to a party, but it also brings the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. By purchasing red or white blends of Eppa Sangria from June through August, shoppers can help create new beginnings in the lives of people in the U.S. and developing countries.

From June 1 through August 31, Eppa will donate a portion of sales proceeds up to $25,000 to the Whole Planet Foundation to fund poverty alleviation around the globe. Eppa Sangria is owned by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits.

“Whole Planet Foundation is grateful to Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits and to our shoppers for the incredible support in helping raise funds to alleviate poverty and fund microloans across the globe,” said Whole Planet Foundation development and outreach director Joy Stoddard.

“We are very proud to expand our relationship with the Whole Planet Foundation and support the extraordinary work the organization is doing around the globe to empower women entrepreneurs,” said Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits Chief Marketing Officer Renato Reyes.

The only organic sangria on the market, Eppa Sangria is crafted in Mendocino, California, from certified organically-grown grapes and an innovative blend of organic juices including pomegranate, blueberry, blood orange and açai. As a result, it is antioxidant rich with two times the antioxidants compared to a glass of red wine.

Founded in 2005, Whole Planet Foundation’s mission is to empower women entrepreneurs with microcredit and the chance to create or expand a home-based business and lift themselves and their families out of poverty. Through grants to microfinance institutions in 59 countries (the U.S. and in 58 countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America), the foundation currently supports more than 577,000 clients, with a repayment rate of 97 percent.
