Leveraging the initial work of SNIA’s Solid State Working Group, the objective of this initiative is to help storage architects and storage engineers more fully understand the true performance characteristics of all flash storage arrays to optimize investments and mitigate performance risks.
A webinar reviewing these methodologies will be held on June 11, 2014 at 11:00 am Pacific Daylight Time. The webinar will demonstrate how enterprise storage architects can create repeatable, verifiable, and comparable performance results of solid state storage arrays across multiple vendors and multiple configurations. “Flash Storage: A Vendor-neutral Method to Analyze Performance,” will feature two highly respected storage industry performance experts: Leah Schoeb, senior partner at Evaluator Group, and Peter Murray, senior product specialist at Load DynamiX. Both have extensive experience in performance analysis of storage systems from both the vendor and IT end-user perspective.
In addition to the webinar, attendees will have access to Evaluator Group’s new testing methodology guidelines entitled Measuring Performance of Solid State Arrays, to be released later this month. The document has been created to give enterprise storage architects and storage vendors a platform-independent approach to the selection and deployment of all flash storage arrays. It will allow architects and engineers to align deployment decisions to real-world workload performance and capacity requirements, resulting in lower storage costs and fewer performance-related outages.
