Two of INVEST’s Program Managers Recognized in Bank Investment Consultant’s Annual Ranking

TAMPA, Fla.--()--Two of INVEST Financial Corporation’s ® (INVEST) program managers were recognized in Bank Investment Consultant’s (BIC) annual “Top 20 Program Managers” ranking. Melissa Ekeberg, program manager for United Community Bank in Blairsville, Georgia, and Jack Nelson, senior vice president of Johnson Investment Services in Racine, Wisconsin, were recognized for the high quality of their programs. INVEST provides broker-dealer services for both companies including customized practice management support and access to innovative technology platforms.

BIC looks at the top managers of the most productive advisors in bank brokerage to create the ranking. Selection to the list is competitive and based on several criteria, including: average production per advisor on the managers’ teams, growth of team assets, growth of team annual production, number of full-time advisors the program manager directly supervises and number of licensed branch employees under their supervision.

“This recognition is a testament to the level of excellence that can be found on Melissa’s and Jack’s teams,” said Steve Dowden, president and chief executive officer of INVEST. “These managers exceed all expectations by not only helping their team of advisors thrive in an unpredictable economy, but also by responsibly guiding them forward to greater growth and new business opportunities.”

This is the second year in a row that Nelson has been recognized on the list. Ranked number 19, Nelson focuses on building a fully-integrated team by working with all business units at Johnson Bank. According to Nelson’s submission, he promotes cross-functionality between departments by setting goals for his advisors to make referrals back to other areas in the bank and holds his team accountable to maintaining a strong communication line between the advisor group and management. Under Nelson’s guidance, the team’s gross dealer concession has increased by 21 percent while the advisory assets under management have increased by 71 percent.

Ranked number 15 on the list, Ekeberg was recognized for growing revenue by 39 percent and her personal production by 41 percent during her first year in the role of program manager. Ekeberg communicates daily with each advisor to let them know where they are compared to their peers as well as to update them on their progress towards achieving their overall goals. Under her leadership in 2013, six of her top seven advisors had a production increase of more than 40 percent.
