PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), a non-profit organization committed to helping vulnerable children, has announced the opening of its first Casa Herbalife program in Phoenix, Arizona.
The new program will support New Pathways for Youth Inc. (NPFY), a non-profit organization in Phoenix, committed to making new futures possible for children and youth through mentoring and value driven programs. NPFY has been serving the needs of impoverished youth across the greater Phoenix area for 25 years. Their programs focus on academic achievement, building better family relationships, and improving essential life skills, including decision-making and goal setting.
Herbalife Family Foundation will provide NPFY with an initial financial grant of $20,000 to help implement a new nutrition program across all of its mentoring curriculums. The nutrition program will educate homeless and at-risk children about the importance of a balanced diet and provide meals and snacks that meet accepted nutritional guidelines.
“We are grateful for the Herbalife Family Foundation’s generous donation, which will help advance our efforts to promote healthy eating and nutrition amongst children and youth across the Phoenix metro area,” said Linda Lyman, President and CEO of New Pathways for Youth. “The Herbalife Family Foundation is a perfect match for our organization and shares our commitment to this important cause. Together, we will work to provide quality meals and educate at-risk young people that good nutrition is an investment in their health and their future worth taking.”
“The launch of the new Casa Herbalife program reflects Herbalife's ongoing commitment to improving the nutrition and lives of vulnerable children everywhere,” said Ibi Fleming, HFF board member, senior vice president and managing director, Herbalife North America. “We look forward to working with New Pathways for Youth to support their mission to improve the futures of children and youth in the Phoenix area.”
Since 2013 the Herbalife Family Foundation has provided approximately $360,000 in funding and assistance to its 13 Casa Herbalife programs across the United States, bringing nutrition to more than 3,100 children in the US. HFF also supports over 100 Casa Herbalife programs globally and serves the daily nutritional needs of more than 120,000 children around the world through annual grants to NGOs and charities that cater to vulnerable children.
The Casa Herbalife program was established in 2005, to help bring good nutrition to children living in orphanages, using after school centers, and other non-profit facilities around the world tasked with helping under-served young people. After the initial financial grants made by HFF, the organizations receive local financial and volunteer support from Independent Herbalife members as well as Herbalife employees.
