EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jamba Juice Company, a leading healthy, active lifestyle brand announced today that Jamba® stores in all five boroughs of New York City will encourage customers to donate $1 to Food Bank For New York City and in return will receive a Jamba Juice® coupon book with various deals for use on their next Jamba Juice visit. Customers of NYC Jamba stores are invited to participate until June 13, 2014. All proceeds will help provide much needed funding for the approximately 400,000 free meals that are distributed by Food Bank each day to New Yorkers in need.
Food Bank For New York City has been active for 31 years as the city’s major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs. As the city’s hub for integrated food poverty assistance, Food Bank tackles the hunger issue on three fronts — food distribution, income support and nutrition education — all strategically guided by its research. Since 1983, Food Bank has provided nearly 1 billion meals to New Yorkers in need, and 1 in 5 New Yorkers rely on Food Bank’s program and services.
“We greatly value our partnership with Food Bank For New York City as it reinforces our commitment to giving back to the local New York community,” said Julie Washington, senior vice president and chief brand officer, Jamba Juice Company. “Food Bank changes lives for local residents and families and we look forward to this promotion helping those in need live a healthier life.”
For all $1 donations, Jamba Juice customers will receive over $20 in coupons.
“We are very grateful for this partnership and we truly thank Jamba Juice for their support,” said Ijeoma Obilo, Director of Engagement and Strategic Partnerships, Food Bank For New York City. “By working through our local communities we have an opportunity to reach New Yorkers in every community and in every borough.
