HUDSON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the leading fabric and craft specialty retailer in America, is celebrating the communities it calls home with a two week Volunteer Program.
In partnership with BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence, Jo-Ann has grown its Volunteer Program to include more than 750 Team Members at its corporate office in Hudson, Ohio, and distribution centers located across the country.
“At Jo-Ann, we take a lot of pride in supporting our communities,” said Riddi Kline, executive vice president, marketing and merchandising for Jo-Ann. “From the store-level Kids In Need Foundation donations to our national Volunteer Program, our Team Members care deeply about giving back and look forward to the spring’s volunteer opportunities. I’m impressed each year by the amount our Team Members accomplish and inspired by their compassion.”
Since 2012, Jo-Ann has given Team Members at its corporate headquarters the ability to donate eight hours of their work week to local non-profit organizations through coordinated Volunteer Weeks. Since 2013, Team Members at the company’s three distribution centers have participated as well.
Through the Volunteer Program, Jo-Ann Team Members have donated more than 7,000 hours of their time since 2012 to non-profit organizations including schools, park systems, homeless shelters, senior centers and food banks. In 2014, 50 organizations will benefit from the Jo-Ann Volunteer Program.
