SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Rotary Club of Santa Clara together with the City of Santa Clara will host the 2014 Silicon Valley Barbecue Championships at Santa Clara’s Central Park on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28, 2014. This event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (www.kcbs.com) and is the 2nd largest championship event on the West Coast!
Here is your chance to watch some of the nation’s top teams prepare their award winning barbeque and see the Silicon Valley BBQ Champion win the grand prize. Over $15,000 in prize money will be awarded! Team applications can be found on our website home page at www.svbbq.com.
We are pleased to host the 2014 Silicon Valley Barbecue Championships and partner with the City of Santa Clara, said Dr. Lou Ann Alexander, president of the Rotary Club of Santa Clara. “Proceeds from the event will go toward our projects to help the youth and those in need in our community. We have wonderful programs such as Steps for Success, Christmas for Kids, scholarships awards, Enterprise Leadership Conference, and many more,” she added.

The event is located in Santa Clara’s beautiful Central Park and will offer live music, bodacious barbecue, and a Beer Garden with a frosty cold beer, wine, margaritas and soft drinks.
The Food Court will feature local restaurants participating and serving up their delicious barbecue recipes including Armadillo Willy’s, Smoking Pig, Blue Rock, Big Ed Buzzard’s, and Artichoke Connection.
For families and children, a Kid Zone will be at the park featuring over 15 fun attractions for kids of all ages.
While the professional competition is winding down, the Backyard BBQ Championships will just be heating up.
