FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Best Spirit Company Inc. has tapped senior executive Omar Bautista to become president of sales of its whisky brand Williamson 18 and Paddington, Black King, John Bow, Magic Black, Imperial Famous, Yacht club, Red and Black in Latin America. Mr. Bautista will lead a new division that combines Mexico, Central, South America and the Caribbean.
Mr. Bautista first priority at TBSC is to continue the strategies that saw a return to growth under previous leadership. The longer-range goal will be to significantly increase TBSC’s scale. “Our objective is to more than triple the size of this business, and we’ll be looking at a variety of ways to construct that,” Mr. Bautista added. “Now that TBSC is in a very healthy state, we’re very excited about our budget friendly whisky collection.”
TBSC’s include a variety of whisky brands, vodka, rum, and agave liquors. “Over and above the brands that we own, we have some very dynamic partnerships in Colombia and Chile," Mr. Bautista said. “We’ll be looking to strengthen those relationships, and we’ll also be looking to add new ones.”
Another TBSC asset is a new collection of liquors packed in Cans, PET bottles and Tetra including Genie The Spirit In a Can, Kovanoff Vodka , and Red & Black rum.
While taking on his new liquor assignment, Mr. Bautista also will retain some of his previous responsibilities on the spirits side. His full title in this new move is President of Sales of TBSC. The Best Spirit Company business, comprising the company’s most luxurious spirits products, has been growing at double-digit rates. New initiatives include its Williamson 18 ELITE project, which locates rare whiskies from around the world for bottling and marketing.
While Mr. Bautista has long been focused on spirits over his career, he’s very familiar with the liquor and beer world, having spent a dozen years at Anheuser Busch, where he served as executive vice president of national and Latin American sales. “Part of the reason I was chosen for the role of TBSC's president of sales is because I have a background in beer as well as spirits,” Mr. Bautista noted. “I have an affinity for the spirits culture, and that dates back to my days in the liquor and beer industry.”
Omar will be based in TBSC ’s Latin American headquarters in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
All the new appointments are effective May 12, 2014.
