Experience Electric Campaign Kicks Off Tuesday

New Initiative Puts Bay Area Residents in Electric Vehicle Driver Seat

WHAT:

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and a consortium of electric vehicle organizations launch “Experience Electric — The Better Ride,” an electric vehicle awareness campaign designed to increase electric vehicle adoption by offering thousands of free test drives at dozens of public venues and workplaces throughout the nine-county Bay Area. Models expected at the launch event include BMW i3, Cadillac ELR, Chevrolet Volt, FIAT 500e, Ford Focus EV, Ford Fusion EV, Kia Soul EV, Nissan Leaf and Tesla Model S.

MTC is the transportation planning, coordinating and financing agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is the agency chartered with protecting air quality in the Bay Area.
