PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EXOS continued today a strong tradition of training the No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick with the selection of Jadeveon Clowney (DE, South Carolina) by the Houston Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Clowney marks the seventh No. 1 overall NFL pick to train for the NFL Combine and Pro Day at EXOS, joining previous No. 1 draftees Andrew Luck (Indianapolis Colts, QB, 2012), Sam Bradford (St. Louis Rams, QB, 2010), Matthew Stafford (Detroit Lions, QB, 2009), Jake Long (Miami Dolphins, OT, 2008), JaMarcus Russell (Oakland Raiders, QB, 2007), and Mario Williams (Houston Texans, DE, 2006).
Leading up to the NFL Draft, Clowney and EXOS athletes dominated at the 2014 Scouting Combine, with many solidifying or greatly improving their stock in the 2014 NFL Draft. EXOS is on pace to further an unrivaled history of draft picks, which in addition to the seven No. 1 picks, includes 94 first-rounders and 459 total selections to date. “There were a lot of different tools at EXOS than what I had in college,” said Clowney. “I couldn’t wait to train each day as all the workouts really helped me.” Clowney turned in an impressive 4.53 official 40-yard dash time at the Combine.
“Our team was extremely excited to help support many of the top prospects for this year’s draft and one of the best athletes we’ve ever worked with was Jadeveon. With all of the pressure and media scrutiny, he maintained his focus and followed every step of our customized training and support process and shocked the world at the Combine with his speed and size,” said Adam Farrand, EXOS’ NFL Combine program manager. “Each year the importance for prospects of having a great plan and support team continues to grow, and the team at EXOS was honored to support Jadeveon and all of our other clients preparing for draft day.”
