ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Venture Atlanta, Georgia’s premier technology investor conference, today issued a call for presenters for its annual event to be held October 21-22, 2014, at the Georgia Aquarium. The two-day conference connects technology innovation and investment capital, highlighting the most promising entrepreneurial companies from throughout the state.
As the region’s largest venture conference, Venture Atlanta enables presenting companies and event attendees to network with a wide range of national and regional VCs, angel investors and investment bankers. In addition to attracting funding, presenting companies are given an unrivaled mentoring opportunity as executives active in the local tech community engage with them to hone their positioning and messages. Past presenters have become some of the event’s greatest proponents.
"Venture Atlanta puts the spotlight on emerging companies from all over Georgia, not just the metro Atlanta area," said Baha Zeidan, CEO of Azalea Health, a 2013 presenting company. "The exposure to investors from within the state and across the country is unparalleled. I would encourage any company with the desire for growth to apply to present at the conference. The experience gained, either as a presenting company or an attendee, is unmatched and will prove invaluable."
Companies that have presented at Venture Atlanta have raised more than $1.3 billion to-date – a number that continues to grow. High growth technology companies seeking to raise capital in the next 12 to 18 months are encouraged to apply. There are no application fees and chosen presenters will attend Venture Atlanta free of charge. Companies interested in presenting must submit a two-page executive summary by Friday, August 15, 2014. For more information or to apply, visit www.ventureatlanta.org.
Approximately 30 presenters will be chosen for Venture Atlanta 2014. Event organizers are seeking the following types of technology-enabled businesses:
- Communication Technology
- Financial Services Technology
- Health IT
- Information Security
- Data & Information Management and Analytics
“We look forward to putting together an exciting group of companies that showcase the dynamic technology industry here in Georgia,” said Wes Getman, audit partner at Grant Thornton LLP and 2014 chair of Venture Atlanta’s Selection Committee. “We encourage any Georgia company fitting the selection criteria to apply for the opportunity to represent our state’s best innovations to a superb and diverse group of potential investors.”
This year’s Venture Atlanta will again feature VA Connections, a face-to-face event established in 2013 and held throughout the two-day conference. The program connects investors with entrepreneurs in a private setting where meetings can potentially fuel business partnerships. Last year, 125 of these meetings took place. The conference will also feature Venture Atlanta Community, where attendees will be able to share messages and network with one another well ahead of the October event date.
Interested companies are urged to act quickly and apply for the opportunity to pitch on stage at Venture Atlanta October 21 – 22 at the Georgia Aquarium.
