Amerigroup Teams with 2012 World Champion Baltimore Ravens and Torrey Smith to Improve Pediatric Health

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--()--Amerigroup Maryland announced today that it has teamed with the 2012 World Champions, the Baltimore Ravens, and Wide Receiver Torrey Smith to kick off the Purple Ticket to Health program, encouraging the Company’s Greater Baltimore pediatric members and their families to take the initiative to stay healthy with annual wellness exams.

“This is the second year that we’ve partnered with the Baltimore Ravens and Torrey Smith on the Purple Ticket to Health program,” said Vincent Ancona, President of Amerigroup Maryland. “After last year’s success we are excited to offer this program again to increase the likelihood that our adolescent members will live healthier, happier lives.”

The program was created to encourage parents or guardians of Amerigroup members to schedule their child’s well-child visits or teen’s annual physicals.

How the program works:

  • Amerigroup sent eligible members Purple Ticket to Health brochures encouraging wellness checkups to be scheduled around members’ birthdays
  • Members schedule and complete checkups with their PCPs
  • PCPs sign the brochures indicating completion of visits
  • Members enter into the raffle by returning completed brochures to Amerigroup via postage paid envelopes
  • Winners will be randomly selected in five drawings through the end of the year

“It feels really good to be a part of a great campaign that focuses on children's health," said Torrey Smith. "I am happy to help once again in the Purple Ticket to Health campaign.”

Amerigroup members in Greater Baltimore will be encouraged to participate, including members from southern, central and western Maryland and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
