ANGEL FIRE, N.M.--()--Angel Fire Resort, located in the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico, announced today the launch of its brand new summer Adventure Pass. The pass will give all guests access to the Southwest’s #1 Bike Park, New Mexico’s only zipline tour, full use of the resort’s 18 hole PGA Championship golf course and lodging, at one of the most affordable prices in the state.

“Being a family-first resort, our goal is to give our guests the most fun on the mountain at the most affordable price,” Dan Swanson, director of marketing, Angel Fire Resort, explains. “For just over one-hundred dollars a night guests can spend 3 nights in our Lodge, go ziplining, mountain biking and play a round of golf. We are confident it’s one of the best values in the state right now for summer vacation packages.”

Angel Fire Bike Park Expands This Season

Angel Fire’s popular bike park, built just a handful of years ago, is quickly gaining traction as one of the best in the nation. Recently named #1 Bike Park in the Southwest by readers of MTBParks.com in Decline Magazine and one of the top 5 Bike Parks in North America by Liftopia, (http://www.liftopia.com/blog/top-5-mountain-biking-parks/) the Angel Fire Bike Park is continuing it’s efforts to offer the best, most authentic trails to riders this season. The Bike Park plans to add a handful of new trails this summer and continue to carve out smooth-flowing trails for those new to the sport.

The 60-plus mile trail network does not include the great off-mountain trails in the village of Angel Fire and surrounding Kit Carson National Forest. Options off the mountain include the 23-mile South Boundary Trail, which begins just south of Angel Fire and ends in Taos, NM. The South Boundary Trail, deemed by many to be a “can’t miss” epic ride, features some of the best high-altitude single-track anywhere in the United States. These cross-country trails give reason to plan extended stays in Angel Fire to experience all the area offers for fat tire enthusiasts.

The Bike Park also boasts the longest season in the Rockies with most trails open from May 16 – October 12, offering riders 110 days of riding, weather permitting. Riders will once again be able to enjoy the new Enduro trails that were added last season. Simply take the lift up and enjoy the scenic surroundings and biking opportunities on the backside and either download, or choose a plethora of trails to descend down the front. Daily Passes start at just $33 and the Summer Gravity Season Pass is just $259 -allowing riders unlimited lift access throughout the 2014 summer season. The Bike Park also offers full rentals and lessons for those trying out the sport for the first time or looking to improve their skills. For more information go to www.angelfirebikepark.com

New Mexico’s Only Zipline Adds More Tour Times

Also new this season, the resort is adding tours to its Rocky Mountain Zipline Adventure Tour, which takes thrill-seekers through multiple zipline stages at the summit. The tour is one of the highest elevation zipline tours in the United States and the very first of its kind in New Mexico. The six-segment tour opened in 2012 and has been so popular that the resort is now adding additional early-morning tour times to give more adrenaline seekers more opportunity to fly 200’ high above the forest floor.

“With monsoon rains in the summer, sometimes late afternoon tour times can be challenging. This summer we’re changing that. We are starting early in the morning and will carve out additional tour times so we can get everybody up on the mountain and through the course with plenty of time before the rain heads in our direction,” Swanson explains. “Plus we’re adding a day-of tour for those who are wanting to book a second tour in the same day, or decide last minute they want to try it out. Tours will be available on a first-come, first serve sign up basis.”

A zipline tour connects multiple ziplines of varying lengths and descents. The adventure begins with an introductory zipline of only 100’ and works up to the Super Zipline, which carries guests on a 1,600’ cable 200’ above the forest floor. Guests must weigh 90-270 pounds to ride the zipline. Pricing for the Zipline Tour only is $129 per person. Reservations are open now, with the Zipline opening May 16. New this season, the golf course will also offer unlimited golf for $100 per person, per day. The course will open May 21, 2014 and will stay open through October 19, 2014, weather permitting.
