NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Onishi Project, established in 2012 as an art management division of Onishi Gallery, is proud to launch POP UP GALLERY IN CHELSEA as part of the Gallery’s expansion in May 2014. This new space provides a unique and highly appealing opportunity for galleries that do not have access to exhibition or office space in New York City.
POP UP GALLERY places its artists at the epicenter of the art scene in Chelsea for contracted periods of 2-3 weeks. Furthermore, Onishi Project provides a management program to help promote artists in global art markets, build international clientele, and network with collectors and museum professionals through exhibitions held in the Chelsea gallery space.
Onishi Project’s POP UP GALLERY program allows U.S. galleries to extend their domestic reach and helps international galleries overcome obstacles that they might encounter abroad: difference in languages and culture, staffing with trustworthy personnel, legal processes for launching the business, and handling and insuring artworks. In effect, Onishi Project has created an international multilane highway that connects U.S. cities with incoming artistic creations from abroad.
Nana Onishi, Founder/Director of Onishi Project and Onishi Gallery says, “This is a vital springboard for galleries to succeed internationally. At Onishi Project we’ve created a global market for emerging and mid-career artists by promoting their artwork through gallery exhibitions, art fairs, dialogue with collectors and curators, and social and professional networks through social media campaigns.”
Our mission is simple and effective, says Ms. Onishi: “To connect galleries, artists, and art patrons across the globe. Be a part of this project, and become a part of the international art world.”
