RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mavenir Systems (NYSE: MVNR), a leading provider of software-based network solutions for mobile services, today announced their participation at the LTE Latin America Conference, taking place April 28-30, 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Ian Maclean, Mavenir’s VP of Strategy & Marketing, will discuss the current business model for VoLTE, and will address the OPEX/CAPEX drivers to deploy new 4G LTE services based on IMS technology. He will share insight gained from Mavenir’s extensive experience transforming mobile operator networks to 4G LTE and commercially deploying new services such as Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Rich Communications Services (RCS).
Expanding into Latin America is a natural progression for Mavenir. “While VoLTE is still considered an emerging technology in Latin America, many operators are developing strategies and planning rollouts,” said Ian Maclean, Vice President of Strategy and Marketing, Mavenir Systems. “Customers and operators will benefit from an experienced company like Mavenir to support them with deployment of virtualized solutions that reduce network complexity and cost while making it easier to build capacity and add flexibility to a network.”
“Up to now, 44 Latin American operators launched 4G services across 17 countries, totaling 2.3 million LTE subscriptions,” said Marceli Passoni, Senior Analyst, Informa Telecoms and Media. “Informa forecasts that LTE will reach around 6 million LTE customers by the end of the year.”
Mavenir is demonstrating its commitment to the growing Latin American LTE market, with a recently opened office in Mexico City, Mexico, and is expecting to open an office in Sao Paolo, Brazil by the end of the third quarter of 2014. The Sao Paolo, Brazil office and Mavenir’s Miami, Florida office, will serve as regional centers of excellence.
Mavenir is actively engaged in several trials and activities with multiple Latin American carriers.
