Segal Group Expands Retirement Plan Services via Defined Contribution Initiative

NEW YORK--()--Joseph A. LoCicero, President & CEO of The Segal Group, has announced a Company-wide expansion of the firm’s Defined Contribution (DC) retirement plan services.

Mr. LoCicero said, “As DC plans have increasingly become a major portion of retirement income for those covered by qualified retirement programs, we are focusing on providing clients with the highest quality consulting advice possible. Over the years, we have built deep DC expertise in the areas of plan design, governance, administration consulting, investment solutions and communications. In order to better serve our clients, we have created a dedicated DC team which will serve clients across all our markets.”

Mr. LoCicero announced that the leaders of the dedicated DC team include one current expert and three new hires:

Robert A. Liberto, SVP, Segal Rogerscasey — Mr. Liberto, with more than 30 years of experience in the employee benefits field, including more than two decades with Segal, is leading the DC initiative for the Multiemployer market. He developed and serves as Practice Leader for DC-Connect®, a comprehensive DC search and vendor-selection service. Mr. Liberto works out of the New York office.

Wendy Y. Carter, VP, Senior Consultant — Ms. Carter joins Segal as a Public Sector DC expert working out of the Washington, D.C. office. She has nearly 30 years of experience in public sector retirement plan consulting, with Mercer Investment Consulting and, most recently, as strategic client relationship director for tax-exempt markets for ING Retirement Services.

Pirie J. McIndoe, VP, Senior Consultant — Mr. McIndoe, who also joined the firm this week, is concentrating on the Higher Ed market. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently as VP, Group Management, Mid-Atlantic Region for VALIC. He has also worked for TIAA-CREF. He is working out of the Raleigh office.

Richard H. Reed, VP, Senior Consultant — Mr. Reed joins the firm to focus on Corporate retirement plans, nationally. He has 25 years of experience in the financial services and retirement plan arena. Most recently, he was managing director of retirement services for Marsh & McLennan Agency in Boston. Mr. Reed is working out of the Boston office.
