Cosentino’s Food Stores Joins Innovatix, LLC

Innovatix will serve as the exclusive provider of specialty pharmacy management services

NEW YORK--()--Cosentino’s Food Stores, a family-owned supermarket chain that operates 27 locations in the Kansas City area, has selected Innovatix, the nation's largest group purchasing organization (GPO) serving the non-acute care marketplace, as its exclusive provider of specialty pharmacy management services.

Innovatix’s Specialty Pharmacy Management program, through its outsourced suppliers, offers retail pharmacies a range of personalized solutions to seamlessly expand into the specialty market. Under the three-year exclusive agreement, Cosentino’s will receive access to essential back-office service solutions, including private label dispensing operations, clinical and disease-state management programs, reimbursement support services, and data management. Cosentino’s will also receive access to a host of educational resources, such as Innovatix’s Specialty Pharmacy Training Program and Institute of Specialty Pharmacy.

“Specialty Pharmacy accounted for over 20% of total prescription drug expenditures in 2012 and is estimated to approach 50% of overall drug spend by 2020.” said Frank Wolff, Director of Pharmacy at Cosentino’s Food Stores. “Our partnership with Innovatix will ensure our customers have access to these specialty medications through our retail pharmacies.”

Cosentino’s Food Stores currently operates 27 stores in the Kansas City area under the Price Chopper, Sun Fresh, Apple Market, and Cosentino’s Market banners.
