McKesson's Toomey to Present at 6th Care Coordination Summit

Will Showcase Next Generation, Collaborative Approach to Utilization Management

NEWTON, Mass.--()--Are providers ready for collaborative clinical and financial decisions at the point of care? McKesson Health Solution’s Holly Toomey will answer that question and more at this year’s Dorland Health 6th Annual Care Coordination Summit, being held May 6-7 at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Md.

Toomey’s session, “Payer Provider Collaboration: Are We Ready for Clinical and Financial Decision Making at the Point of Decision?” will kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7. Payment and care delivery reforms require payers and providers to share clinical and financial information to help ensure that the right care is delivered at the right time and the right cost. In her session, Toomey will explore what payer-provider collaboration really looks like and how actionable content and efficient workflows hold the keys to success. Her session will demonstrate how current technologies help providers determine whether care is appropriate, if it is covered, how much it will cost, and even where it should be provided.

“Healthcare needs to tear down its information silos and dated methods of payer, provider, and patient communication if it is to succeed in the new world of improved outcomes and value-based care,” said Toomey, director, Product Management, Decision Management at MHS. “McKesson’s technology can help do that by streamlining clinical and financial decisions between payers and providers, and moving those decisions to the point of care to help improve the patient’s experience and outcome.”

The 6th annual Care Coordination Summit will gather healthcare leaders from across the United States to discuss new strategies around “Harnessing Quality, Capturing Value, and Driving Outcomes.” The Care Coordination Summit is pre-approved for 10.0 CE contact hours for nurses, social workers, board certified case managers, disability management specialists and patient advocates.
