ARDEN HILLS, Minn.--()--Kristi Yamaguchi and Minnesota-based Alpine Lace® Deli Cheese announced their new partnership today. Yamaguchi will act as the popular cheese brand’s new spokesperson.

Yamaguchi became a household name in 1992 when she took the gold at the Albertville Olympics. She was named to the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1998, the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1999 and was inducted into the USOC Olympic Hall of Fame in 2005. Yamaguchi also founded the Always Dream Foundation, wrote two New York Times bestselling children’s books: Dream Big, Little Pig! and It’s a Big World, Little Pig! and created a line of active wear called Tsu.ya.

At the same time, Yamaguchi has figured out how to enjoy a balanced, happy, active life, making the most of time spent with her husband, Bret, and daughters, Keara and Emma. She says she has ditched dull diets and tedious workouts to focus instead on wellness.

“I know that wellness is more than just the numbers on a package,” Yamaguchi said. “Sure, I read nutrition labels and I love that Alpine Lace® Swiss Cheese has 25 percent less fat, but it’s just as important for me to choose foods that taste great and fit my lifestyle.”

Her balanced approach to wellness makes Yamaguchi a perfect fit for Alpine Lace® Deli Cheese according to Jon Andrews, Marketing Manager for the brand.

“Kristi has inspired so many people, on and off the ice,” Andrews said. “And, now she can inspire people to make room in their lives for active adventures and mindful eating.”

Yamaguchi will represent the brand through a variety of appearances, events and social media conversations beginning in April.

Alpine Lace® Swiss Cheese is made with wholesome ingredients, like reduced-fat milk. “It’s the better-for-you cheese that fits into a healthy lifestyle,” Andrews said.

Alpine Lace® Swiss Cheese is a good source of protein, which helps maintain lean muscle, and a good source of calcium, which helps build strong bones. It is available at the deli counter, where shoppers can ask for it to be sliced fresh to exactly the thickness they want.

The Alpine Lace® Deli Cheese family of products also includes American, Muenster, Provolone and Cheddar.
