LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eltek today announced that its INV222 DC-AC modular inverter has been approved for use by Network Rail Ltd. The highly regarded product approval opens up a new and diverse range of railway power opportunities for the company.
Already, the railway operator has installed Eltek’s industrial uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) in five key locations on its High Speed 1 (HS1) link. With the new approval and product approval database (PADS) listing, Network Rail infrastructure staff can use the INV222 to provide AC power for Digital Barriers, CCTV equipment and essential AC applications throughout the UK rail network.
The 2.25kVA, 48VDC to 230VAC, INV222 modular system features high-efficiency switching power conversion technology and state-of-the-art control for reliable operation and easy maintenance. This range can integrate seamlessly with Eltek’s existing approved high efficiency Flatpack2 HE rectifier products to form truly modular and scalable UPS systems for other critical power applications.
“Eltek has already been part of improving the reliability of a significant upgrade for the HS1 link and this approval gives us new opportunities to add value to the wider rail network,” said Lars Dousa, Eltek Executive Vice President. “The INV222 has full Network Rail approval, underlining confidence in our advanced power conversion technology. It’s a major event that we can now bring these systems to every station in the Network Rail system.”
