In order to become ISO 9001:2008 certified, a company must fulfill requirements outlined by the ISO. Including among ISO requirements are the control of procedures that cover all key processes in the business and to continue monitoring them to ensure they are effective, maintaining adequate records, checking output for defects, with appropriate and corrective action where necessary, regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness, while facilitating continual improvement. In addition, the company must demonstrate a quality management system with the ability to consistently provide product that meets customer as well as statutory and regulatory requirements and remain committed to enhancing customer satisfaction, continual improvement and the assurance of conformity to requirements.
