PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VuCOMP, Inc., developer of the newest automated breast density assessment technology and advanced computer-aided detection (CAD) for mammography, announced today that it has appointed company Co-founder and CTO James Pike as President. Pike takes over from Jeffrey Wehnes, Co-founder and longtime CEO, as the company enters a new phase of growth.
Pike will continue as the company CTO where he played a pivotal role in the successful development and launch of cutting-edge breast cancer detection technologies, M-Vu Breast Density and M-Vu CAD. In his dual role, Pike will work closely with COO Barry Burgdorf to continue to refine and simplify pricing models including recently introduced bundling options, enhance channel partnerships, drive sales and streamline product development. This will include readiness for Tomosynthesis as the market rapidly evolves in this direction, and as customers demand Tomo-readiness and synthetic 2D-image data sets/C-view capabilities.
“Jim understands technology, customer needs and demands, and how to get advanced products from the drawing board and into the marketplace in a swift and systematic way,” Burgdorf said. “We believe at VuCOMP that this combined role makes sense given our strategic direction, and that Jim brings unique capabilities to carry it out.”
Pike and Burgdorf will work closely to both accelerate product development and sales in North America, and enhance operations and investment in the EU and the wider global marketplace in response to customer demands.
