"GEICO congratulates these students who did a tremendous job in bringing attention to distracted driving in such a creative way. I love seeing such talent at work,” said Tony Nicely, GEICO's chairman and CEO. "All of our participants helped spread the powerful message about the dangers of distracted driving, and I want to thank everyone for entering the contest."

GEICO invited students (ages 6-18) to submit a hand-drawn or computer-generated T-shirt design that depicts how to prevent distracted driving. Students were asked to showcase any or all forms of distractions such as texting and talking on the phone, eating, grooming, and adjusting the radio or GPS navigations while driving.

Serving as judges for this year’s competition were Laurel Sims of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety; Alexandra Holiday from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration; Carolyn Tran, lead application analyst with GEICO's mobile team; and Karen Violette, senior graphic designer with GEICO.
