LEXINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Watermill Group, a strategy-driven private investment firm, has recruited John N. Carr to join as Principal. Mr. Carr will work on the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investments. He will also support strategic transformation initiatives for Watermill’s portfolio companies.
Mr. Carr has 10 years of experience spanning private equity, investment banking, consulting and operations improvement. He joins Watermill from Lionheart Ventures, where he served as a vice president responsible for business development, deal analysis, deal execution and portfolio company improvement projects. Previously, Mr. Carr worked at Goldman Sachs, Gomez Inc., JPMorgan and Stroud Consulting. At these firms, he gained insights into industrial and technology companies and developed operations and management expertise.
“After working with John at his previous firm, we knew he’d be a strong contributor to the Watermill team,” said Steven E. Karol, Founding and Managing Partner at The Watermill Group. “John’s consulting skills and strategic approach, paired with his successful track record leading middle-market industrial transactions, make him the perfect fit for our firm. We’re very happy to have John as part of our leadership team.”
With the addition of Mr. Carr as Principal, the Watermill team now numbers 13 people, including six partners and two other principals, Michael Fuller and Julia Karol. Watermill continues to grow its team along with its portfolio of manufacturing companies, which recently expanded with the acquisition of The Plastics Group in February.
