NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accenture (NYSE:ACN) today announced the publication of its 2012–2013 Corporate Citizenship Report, “Our Communities, Our Commitments,” which explores the company’s corporate citizenship goals, progress and challenges.
The report highlights Accenture’s Skills to Succeed initiative, which has exceeded the company’s goal to equip more than half a million people with the skills to get a job or build a business. To increase its impact in communities around the world, the company is raising its target: by 2015, Accenture plans to equip 700,000 people worldwide with workplace and entrepreneurial skills.

“Our Communities, Our Commitments” details Accenture’s impact during fiscal 2012 and 2013 across five areas: Corporate Governance, Skills to Succeed, Environment, Our People and Supply Chain.
Additional highlights of the report include:
- Environment: Accenture reduced its per employee carbon emissions in fiscal 2013 by more than 36 percent from its fiscal 2007 baseline. In 2013, Accenture was included, for the fifth consecutive year, among the CDP Global 500, which tracks how the world’s largest listed companies are addressing climate change.
- Our People: In fiscal 2013, Accenture invested more than US$870 million in employee training and professional development. In fiscal 2012, the company launched its global women’s theme “Defining Success. Your way.” – which helps inspire its more than 100,000 women to define their personal approaches to success.
- Supply Chain: Ninety-nine percent of the company’s Procurement Requests for Proposal included environmental questionnaires in fiscal 2013. Additionally, since its launch in 2006, Accenture’s Diverse Supplier Development Program has helped mentor more than 70 minority, women-owned and other diverse businesses.
- Corporate Governance: In recognition of Accenture’s strict adherence to ethics and compliance, which includes zero tolerance for corruption in all its forms, the company has been included on Ethisphere’s “World’s Most Ethical Companies” list for seven consecutive years.
