WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Optikos Corporation, a leading provider of optical engineering services and products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert J. (Bob) Ireland to the position of Sales Director for U.S. and international sales.
Bob is leading the Company’s efforts to expand their optical and opto-mechanical engineering services and metrology product line for diverse client applications. A key differentiator in the Company’s offering is their broadly-based optical engineering expertise – which spans from lens and optical system design, electronics, mechanics and software, to prototypes and full sub-system development.

Bob began his career as an optical design engineer at Eastman Kodak Company and subsequently held both technical and commercial management roles at Kodak and Corning Incorporated. He successively led divisions of II-VI, CVI Melles Griot and SCHOTT through periods of significant business and capabilities growth, including establishing international partnerships; and most recently held the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager of Syntec Optics and Wordingham Technologies.
After earning an A.B. in Physics from the College of the Holy Cross, and an M.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester, Bob received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
