NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Keane has received certification from the National Technical Information Services (NTIS) for continued access to the Social Security Administration Death Master File (DMF).
In recent weeks the NTIS has restricted the use of the DMF and implemented a certification program to ensure that only organizations with a valid interest – such as fraud prevention and business purposes pursuant to a law, governmental rule, regulation, or fiduciary duty – are permitted to access the DMF.
“The Death Master File is an important resource in our efforts to identify potential fraud risks and liabilities while supporting state and SEC requirements pertaining to unclaimed property compliance,” said Nick Nichols, Keane Chief Operating Officer. “We are proud to have received our certification from the NTIS so that we may continue providing these valuable services to our clients.”
Continued access to the DMF, as well as the numerous other sources that Keane utilizes to identify hidden risks and liabilities, will allow Keane to further their position as the leader in the unclaimed property compliance marketplace.
