MetLife Names Jeanmarie McFadden as New Chief Communications Officer

NEW YORK--()--MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that it has named Jeanmarie McFadden as Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, effective March 31.

In this position, McFadden will lead MetLife’s Global Communications function with responsibility for enterprise-wide communications to critical stakeholders. She will oversee a team of more than 50 internal and external communications professionals worldwide.

“Jeanmarie has a proven track record of helping financial firms enhance their reputations, articulate their strategies, and position themselves globally,” said Michael A. Zarcone, MetLife’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff to the Chairman, President and CEO. “Her skills and experience will help MetLife achieve its business, policy and communications goals.”

McFadden most recently served as a Managing Director and Head of Global Corporate Affairs for Morgan Stanley, with responsibility for media relations, internal communications, philanthropy, branding, marketing, advertising and corporate events. She was also a member of the firm’s Management Committee.

McFadden joined Morgan Stanley in 1990 as an Associate in Corporate Communications and served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility during her first 10 years with the firm. She was named Vice President in 1996 and served as Head of U.S. Media Relations when she left the firm in April of 2000 for Credit Suisse First Boston.

At Credit Suisse, McFadden rose to become Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Corporate Communications. She worked closely with the Zurich office on design and implementation of media strategy for the global investment bank and recruited and led the media relations and internal communications teams.

In March of 2006, McFadden re-joined Morgan Stanley as Global Head of Corporate Communications, the firm’s senior-most communications professional with responsibility for designing and executing global internal and external communications strategy and managing a global team of communications professionals.

McFadden earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of New Jersey in 1986.
