Vince Camuto, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Camuto Group to be Honored as 2014 “Father of the Year”

NEW YORK--()--The National Father’s Day Council announced today that Vince Camuto, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Camuto Group, has been named a 2014 "Father of the Year" Honoree. The award will be presented at the 73rd Annual Father of the Year Awards luncheon in New York City on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, with proceeds benefitting Save the Children’s U.S. Programs. Mr. Camuto founded Camuto Group in 2001 and launched his eponymous footwear line in 2005. Today, the namesake brand includes 30 sportswear and lifestyle categories including dresses, handbags, jewelry, swimwear, fragrance and menswear. Camuto Group also owns the master license for the Jessica Simpson brand, which is now a billion-dollar business globally. In 2006, Camuto Group partnered with Tory Burch to launch her footwear collection. Additional key partners include Sanctuary Clothing, Lucky Brand Jeans and BCBG.

In 2012, Mr. Camuto launched VC Signature Vince Camuto, an accessible luxury collection of classic shoes and handbags, and Two By Vince Camuto, an elevated take on laid-back dressing. In 2013, the company debuted Vince Camuto Men, a men’s lifestyle brand, and Louise et Cie, an accessories collection designed by Louise Camuto.

As the first ever footwear Business Service Network (BSN) Corporate Affiliate Member to partner with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Camuto Group helped mentor CFDA members and aided them in the creation of strategic alliances with high profile businesses. In 2012, Mr. Camuto was inducted into the CFDA, and received the ACE “Visionary” Award. The following year he was recognized by Nordstrom as a “Partner in Excellence”, and received the prestigious Footwear News Lifetime Achievement Award.

An avid believer in philanthropy, Mr. Camuto concentrates his efforts on charities that benefit children and families, including Ronald McDonald House, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Leukemia Society of America and The Domestic Abuse Awareness Foundation. Additionally, he supports breast cancer research through FFANY Shoes on Sale and serves on the board of Wish-And-A-Smile.

Mr. Camuto has five children and lives in Connecticut with his youngest son and wife, Louise Camuto, Creative Director of the Vince Camuto brand.

The 2014 Father of the Year Awards luncheon will take place at the New York Hilton Hotel, June 4th at 12:00 p.m.
