NAB Teams with Got Your 6 to Spotlight Veterans at 2014 NAB Show

2014 NAB Show

WASHINGTON--()--The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today that Got Your 6 will be the featured nonprofit partner of the 2014 NAB Show, April 5-10 in Las Vegas. NAB Show is the world's largest media and entertainment event with more than 93,000 annual attendees. Got Your 6 is the entertainment industry-backed campaign to bridge the civilian-military divide by changing the conversation in America around veterans and military families.

Got Your 6 will have a substantial presence at NAB Show this year, including an interactive "Met a Vet" experience in the lobby between the North and Central Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. When visiting the Got Your 6 booth, attendees will be invited to pause for a moment to have a conversation with a veteran while recharging both physically and electronically. Got Your 6 challenges civilians to share in the sacrifice by finding a meaningful way to show appreciation to those who have served. The Got Your 6 "Met a Vet" interactive experience will provide NAB attendees with the opportunity to engage with veterans to answer one of the many calls-to-action Got Your 6 encourages, which can be found here.

Additionally, NAB will distribute Got Your 6's public service announcements (PSAs) to its member radio and television stations at NAB Show, feature Got Your 6 in conference sessions, activate a range of social media initiatives, support a corporate fund-raising initiative and include Got Your 6 veteran representatives in several special events during the show. The Got Your 6 PSAs are available now at www.NABSpotCenter.org.

"Success in business and life depends in large part upon great leadership, teamwork, commitment, and problem solving ability," said Gordon Smith, president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters. "Our outstanding U.S. military veterans embody these qualities, and that's why NAB supports the innovative Got Your 6 campaign and its work on behalf of veterans. I hope all of our members, exhibitors and attendees will lend their support to this outstanding cause."

"More than a quarter million military service members return to civilian life each year, but their journey is not over. Through our continued work with the entertainment industry, we can make huge strides to bridge the civilian-military divide," said Chris Marvin, managing director of Got Your 6. "Our NAB Show partnership offers Got Your 6 an incredible platform to introduce our mission to some of media and entertainment's most influential people and companies as we work to ensure returning veterans are viewed as leaders and civic assets."
