SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Keynote, the global leader in mobile and web cloud testing & monitoring, today announced the results of its first ever “State of Mobile Software Web and App Quality Survey,” in conjunction with Software Quality Engineering (SQE) - a leading provider of training, conferences, and resources for development & test professionals (www.sqe.com). In order to shed light on the multi-faceted challenges of mobile quality assurance, Keynote and Software Quality Engineering conducted a survey of more than 1,600 mobile website and app developers, IT and quality assurance professionals. To help determine the state of mobile testing practices and tools, the survey asked respondents about the structure of their organizations, their most pressing challenges, and what tools and processes they are utilizing to address those challenges and assure the highest levels of mobile quality.

The survey found that despite accelerated development cycles and limited resources, users' expectations of mobile app and website quality were the same or higher than desktop, forcing testing and QA professionals to do more with less. Experts from Keynote and SQE will present complete survey results and conduct a Q & A session during an upcoming webcast. For additional survey findings and details please refer to the Keynote webpage, here.

The number of mobile apps across all vertical markets continues to grow at a rapid pace. Smart devices inclusive of phones, tablets, and embedded appliances are becoming more and more ubiquitous,” said Michael Sowers, CIO & Sr. QA/Test Consultant at Software Quality Engineering. "Ensuring that these applications are adequately tested is a key challenge for QA/Test Teams worldwide. We are seeing a significant interest in mobile and other smart applications at our training and conference events (www.sqe.com) as development and test teams strive to keep pace with the consumer and business demand of delivering ‘more functionality, faster, better and cheaper’. This data supports our decision to introduce a mobile and smart development and testing conference in spring 2015. As the survey results outline, development and QA/test teams face a number of challenges in assuring consistent quality across the mobile and embedded platforms and therefore seek more training, tools and process guidance to assist them in bringing quality mobile products to market.”

“Today’s mobile users are difficult to satisfy and apps are easy to uninstall. However, the testing tools, processes and resources haven’t caught up with users’ high expectations – and management’s expectations of their mobile QA and testing teams,” said Rachel Obstler, Senior Director of Product Marketing at Keynote. “In order to meet mobile websites and applications’ market demand, implementing processes that include real device testing and automation capabilities will be key to meeting rising expectations.”
