NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kokobo Greenscapes from LIC, NY was recently honored by the Long Island Nursery and Landscape Association with not one, but three prestigious awards: two Gold and one Silver. LINLA, a New York State professional association that was established in the early 1960′s, aims to acknowledge the best of the best in landscape design and construction in the NYC and Long Island region.
The panel of judges features two architects, two landscape architects, and two professional horticulturalists. Judging criteria includes quality of the design, landscape construction and plant material.
Kokobo received their first Gold Award of the night with a newly unveiled 2,500 square foot rooftop in New York City. The project, which is located in the Financial District, includes a modern looking outdoor kitchen and bar, greenwalls, lounges, and dining areas. The second Gold Award of the night was presented due to their extraordinary ability of bringing the look of Bali and Thailand to a Massapequa family’s home. The team worked diligently to make this limiting space an exotic fusion of the resorts the family had visited. A custom water feature, firepit, outdoor kitchen, and extensive landscaping proved to win over the judges. A Silver Award was given for the remarkable transformation of a petite backyard in Queens. An old garage was removed to make way for a new luxurious look that features an outdoor kitchen, outdoor dining area, pergola, custom gardens and stonework.
