BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Corporate law specialist Joseph J. Basile has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a partner and co-chair of its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) practice, the firm announced today.
Basile has represented some of the world’s leading corporations, private equity sponsors and sovereign wealth funds. He has consistently been named one of the top lawyers in corporate law, M&A and private equity buyouts by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and the Legal 500 USA.
Basile’s practice focuses on cross-border and domestic M&A transactions; control and minority investments; joint ventures and strategic alliances in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He also has extensive experience in distressed M&A transactions and financial restructurings. In addition to transactional work, Basile advises publicly held companies on corporate governance, strategies for engagement with activist shareholders, securities law issues, disclosure and compliance matters.
Basile comes to Foley Hoag from the Boston office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he was that office’s managing partner.
