  • New DIY Tech Product Available at Major Retailers, Both Online and In-Store, on March 15
  • Cricut Explore Helps DIYers, Crafters and Makers Easily Design, Cut and Make Polished Creative Projects in Minutes

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah--()--Coming off its sold-out debut appearance on HSN, Cricut today announced that Cricut Explore™, the world’s easiest design-and-cut system for making polished DIY projects, will be available on March 15 in Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft, Michaels and Hobby Lobby stores nationwide, and online at Cricut.com, Amazon.com, JoAnn.com, Walmart.com and HSN.com.

Cricut Explore is an advanced cutting machine that works with Cricut Design Space, Cricut’s easy-to-use, free online design software that contains more than 50,000 images and hundreds of ready-to-make projects, to help users go from inspiration to creation in just a few clicks. With Cricut Explore, DIY crafters can design and cut, write or score a wide range of projects, from home décor and parties to cardmaking, scrapbooking and school projects.

“After years of meticulous development, Cricut Explore is ready to be unleashed into the hands of DIY crafters everywhere,” said Ashish Arora, president and CEO at Cricut. “With Cricut Explore, we wanted to empower the maker movement to create what inspires them on Pinterest and bring their own designs to life – all in a matter of minutes with just a few clicks. We are excited for DIYers across the country to leverage our technology in pursuing their creative passions.”

The Cricut Explore electronic cutting machine cuts and writes a variety of materials in one simple step via patent-pending Cut Smart technology. Cut Smart delivers precision cutting of various materials via dual carriage heads: one clamp with a premium German carbide blade for cutting, and a secondary clamp for drawing or writing with a pen or marker, which can also be used for a scoring tip.

Cricut is also announcing the availability of a deep cut blade that easily cuts thicker materials, such as cardboard, leather, suede and felt, as well as several different sets of markers specifically designed to work with Cricut Explore.
