Skyline Country Club Members and Residents Band Together to Save Club

TUCSON, Ariz.--()--The members of Skyline Country Club and the residents of Skyline Country Club Estates Homeowners Association joined forces to successfully implement a plan that has placed the country club on solid financial footing and will provide various club benefits for all Skyline residents. The Club’s members made contributions to pay off the Club’s debt, make improvements to the Club’s facilities and develop a working capital reserve. The residents agreed to have their HOA dues increased for the next three years and will make annual payments to the Club for 25 years in exchange for certain benefits and services to be provided by the Club. Also, as part of the plan, the Club entered into a long-term lease agreement with Arnold Palmer Golf Management to professionally manage the Club.

“After thorough consideration of our options, we chose a partnership with Arnold Palmer Golf Management,” stated Jim Christiansen, President of Skyline Country Club. ”They worked shoulder to shoulder with us on the Club’s plan and helped us achieve our goals. We were very impressed with their track record of providing a fine private club experience, the creative solutions they offered to our financial challenges and their partnership approach.” Lonnie Lister, the Club’s General Manager, added “Skyline has an incredible 50 year history and is now well positioned for decades to come. This is an exciting time for the Club and our staff is looking forward to being a part of the Arnold Palmer Golf Management team to deliver exceptional services for our members, residents and guests.”

In addition to golf, Skyline Country Club has a state-of-the art fitness center, swimming, tennis and several dining options. A distinctive feature of the Club is the breathtaking panorama of the Tucson valley; providing a perfect setting for weddings or special events.

Doug Howe, a partner with the Dallas-based Arnold Palmer Golf Management commented, “We are very proud to be a part of Skyline and appreciate this opportunity to work with the members, residents and staff. This is an extraordinary club with passionately supportive members and homeowners, such as Joan Sweeney and John Payne, who led the charge to successfully reorganize the Club. The next phase of our plan is to host fun events for the members and community, invite our members’ friends, neighbors and family to join the club and ensure the club is relevant for the next generation of members.”
