HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Yarko "JJ" Sos, President & CEO of Check-6, Inc., will be a presenting speaker at the OASIS Montgomery Summit, to be held March 5 & 6, 2014 in Santa Monica, California. The Summit gathers a highly selective group of 800 senior-level investor and top executives from growth technology companies for two days of events and presentations. For a decade, the conference has provided unparalleled opportunities to meet a diverse blend of technological visionaries and innovators from all over the world.
Yarko “JJ” Sos is the President and CEO of one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S., www.checksix.com. “It is an honor to be guiding this group of amazing men and women toward helping make the energy industry a safer place in which to work.”
Check-6 began after the Founder, Brian Brurud, was discussing a white paper with a deepwater drilling engineer. The paper’s conclusion was that the energy industry would be well-served if it followed the principles and training standards of commercial and military aviation, and if former fighter pilots were the ones to teach the hands on the rig. In 2007, Check-6 was born, with Brurud and Sos beginning with a great idea, and a lot of work ahead of them. The company (www.checksix.com) has grown from a couple of people gathered around a card table to 400 employees and coaches worldwide. Check-6 now has offices not only in Houston, TX and Tulsa, OK but also in Stavanger, Norway, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, West Perth, Australia, Bangkok, Thailand, Chile, and an office soon to be opening in Russia.
Yarko “JJ” Sos is uniquely qualified to lead this fast-growing organization. He has had years of experience in managing risk for good reward. JJ has had a quarter of a decade of experience in organizational leadership, change and improvement. Prior to coming to Check-6 he served as a business process and strategy consultant and as a corporate team building coach.
In the military he commanded an Air National Guard F-16 fighter squadron, directed and taught at the prestigious Navy TOPGUN fighter training program, directed operations for an F-14 Tomcat Squadron and held numerous other key leadership and management positions. He also served his country by participating in combat in Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and the NATO Bosnia campaign. JJ is an engineering graduate of Vanderbilt University, earned an MBA from Rutgers University - Camden and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the New Jersey Air National Guard.
