DETROIT--()--US/Canada Border Conference organizers announced their 2014 Advisory Board. September 16th and 17th, 2014, marks the 2nd annual meeting at the Cobo Center in Detroit of senior level officials from U.S. and Canada border security agencies.

“The inaugural event was developed to bring federal, state/provincial and local law enforcement agencies together with industry in order to improve border security and better facilitate legitimate trade and travel along the shared U.S.–Canada border,” said Paul Mackler, President & CEO of Eagle Eye Expositions, the producer of this exclusive conference. “This year’s program builds on this exclusive forum with a focus on Beyond the Border 2.0.”

The 2014 Advisory Board is comprised of a distinguished alliance of former border security experts and industry leaders from both countries. The Board directs the development of the conference program, recruiting a strong slate of speakers charged with implementing the Beyond the Border Action Plan.

Robert C. Bonner, former Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and currently senior principal of the Sentinel HS Group, serves as Chairman of the US/Canada Border Conference Advisory Board.

“I’m delighted to Chair the 2nd annual US/Canada Border Conference Advisory Board with such an extraordinary group of colleagues from both the U.S. and Canada,” said Bonner. “We intend to build upon last year’s excellent US/Canada Border Conference and will address the biggest challenges and greatest opportunities for making our mutual border more secure, work better, smarter and more fluidly for the North American economic juggernaut. In doing so, we are bringing together thought leaders and policy makers from both nations to advance the policy agenda, envisioning what goes beyond and after the Beyond the Border initiative. We will be discussing how to implement Beyond the Border 2.0, a U.S.-Canada border for the 21st Century.”
